I started my day with a challenge to find 15 lines of poetry that would present themselves to me throughout the day.  I found way more than 15 by just staying awake to the possibilities throughout the day.  I found a whole poem when I read Morning Drive, posted by newtreemom. (Thanks so much for your lovely inspiration!)

Unexpected treachery
spits.
A sudden,
furious,
flurry.

Unexpectedly flickering now,
heart,
glistening,
takes its exit.

The final corner approaches—
slick,
early.

A layer of mourning
doubly created.

And an unexpected
fatality,
(a wreck)
unexpectedly sounds
a safe arrival.

*For those who don’t know, found poetry is a type of poetry created by taking words, phrases, and sometimes whole passages from other sources and reframing them as poetry by making changes in spacing and lines, or by adding or deleting text, thus imparting new meaning.
